About this Site:
Steve Carpenito has visited more than 40 Harness Tracks with plans to see them all. He has participated in the sport as an Owner and an Amateur Driver, having scored his lone victory in the 1999 Sports Eye Invitational at Monticello Raceway behind Jethro Bodine. Currently, Steve’s passion can be seen at CalExpo where as Marketing Director he is helping the team there to reshape and build the industry west of the Rockies.
Steve previously served as the Morning Line Oddsmaker at Yonkers Raceway for 16 years. He also worked as Program Editor and Chart Caller for much of that time. He's appeared many times as a guest handicapper alongside Frank Drucker on Yonkers Raceway Live, the tracks on-air presentation. Steve's Graded Selections and Analysis of the races at Yonkers Raceway were a prominent feature in Sports Eye for many years. He is a member of the United States Harness Writers Association.
In 2005 Steve set his sights on the Meadowlands and his handicapping skills were rewarded when he earned first place in the Meadowlands Winter Survival Challenge. He defeated a field of 2,200 rivals in the four month online contest, lasting one month longer than the second place competitor. You can reach Steve at: stevec@harnessaction.com.
Steve has been a fan of Harness Racing for over 25 years, since he was tall enough to see over the windows at Roosevelt Raceway. His passion for the sport and concern for the industry led to the creation of HarnessAction.com, with the goal of being “The Leading Source for Harness Racing Fans.”
